Overview: The Healthcare Facility Patient Evacuation Planning and Preparedness virtual healthcare topic imparts knowledge and lessons learned in planning and executing the evacuation of a healthcare facility in preparation for, during, or after a disaster or emergency to class participants. Students review the essential components of an evacuation plan, from conducting a hazard vulnerability assessment through recovery and repatriation of the facility, using real-world examples. Students leave the course with the knowledge to evaluate and revise their facility’s evacuation plan.
