Statistics reveal that 80% of EMTs and paramedics have responded to domestic violence situations during their career, with the vast majority reporting little to no formal training on the subject.

This session aims to equip fire and EMS personnel with a comprehensive understanding of domestic violence dynamics, effective response strategies, and how to identify affected individuals.

Participants will learn crucial skills such as ensuring scene safety, recognizing signs/ symptoms of near-fatal strangulation, and delivering trauma-informed care to victims. The session will also provide valuable national domestic violence resources and reference material.
