This 4.5-day class introduces the student to what an Incident Management Team (IMT) is, when it is used, and how it functions. It covers the roles and
responsibilities of all 8 Command and General Staff positions—with emphasis on communication within the IMT and with stakeholders. Emphasis is placed on the
Planning Process that is utilized by the IMT to develop Incident Action Plans (IAPs). The Planning Process is practiced—in short segments—on a haz mat
scenario conducted in multiple sessions during the first three days. On Days Four & Five, a new and different scenario is managed by the IMT—with students
assuming and performing Command & General Staff roles.
