This 8hr program offered January 31, 2024, is designed for first responders, medical and legal professionals, mental health practitioners, social workers, child and adult protection investigators and case workers, educators, guardian ad litems, elderly abuse advocates and other professionals caring for traumatized victims, patients and clients. This program will provide a general awareness of the causes of Compassion Fatigue, Vicarious Trauma, Burn Out, and other workplace stressors along with related stress reactions. Students will be given the tools to help manage these stressors and be exposed to the benefits of stress management techniques, physical exercise, nutrition, medication, and sleep-inducing strategies. We will also create a self-care plan. Attendees will participate in practical stress relieving activities. A better understanding of ways to identify and resolve stress should lead to more effective job
performance and employee retention.
